Legal Disclaimer & Terms of Use
1. General Disclaimer
The calculators, articles, and standards reference tables provided on MEPVault.com are strictly for educational and estimation purposes. While we strive to align our tools with the National Building Code (NBC) of India, IS Codes, and ASHRAE standards, MEPVault does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of the outputs.
2. Professional Verification
All engineering calculations generated via our tools must be independently verified by a licensed and qualified MEP consulting engineer before being applied to actual construction drawings, tenders, or physical installations.
3. Intellectual Property
The code logic, UI design, and written articles on this platform are the intellectual property of MEPVault. Copying, scraping, or reverse-engineering the calculators for commercial reproduction is strictly prohibited.
4. User-Generated Content (Comments & Submissions)
Where MEPVAULT enables comment threads, contact forms, or article submissions, the user retains authorship of their text and grants MEPVAULT a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, edit for clarity, archive, and republish the submission within the MEPVAULT site and associated email/social channels. By submitting, the user represents that the content is original, does not infringe a third party’s intellectual property, does not contain confidential project information they are not authorised to share, and is not defamatory or abusive. MEPVAULT reserves the right to refuse, edit, or remove any user-generated content that we judge inconsistent with the technical-civility standards we apply to engineering discourse, without obligation to publish notice of removal.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, MEPVAULT, its proprietors, contributors, editors, and any affiliated consulting practice (collectively, “the Operators”) shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including, without limitation, lost profits, project delay costs, equipment-rework costs, or contractual penalties — arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) reliance on a calculator output, code-summary table, technical article, drawing reference, or any other content published on this site; (b) any error, inaccuracy, or omission in such content; (c) any service interruption, downtime, or data loss; or (d) any third-party advertising or referral originating from this site. Engineering decisions on real projects must always be verified by a licensed and qualified MEP consulting engineer of record under their professional indemnity, regardless of any number provided by an MEPVAULT tool or article.
6. Specific Calculator-Tool Disclaimers
Each public calculator on this site (CLTD Cooling Load, ASHRAE 62.1 Ventilation, NBC Fire DBR Generator, Duct Sizer, CHW Pipe Sizer, CW Pipe Sizer, Staircase & Liftwell Pressurization, U-Value Calculator, and similar) is published as an indicative engineering estimator. The published outputs are based on simplified algorithms, default psychrometric/code coefficients, and typical-case Indian climatic and material assumptions; they may diverge meaningfully from manufacturer-rated equipment or from purpose-built energy-modelling software (Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, IES-VE, EnergyPlus). Use them for early-stage validation, comparative selection, and student/learner self-study, never as the primary basis for a tender BOQ, statutory DBR, or as-built drawing. The engineer of record bears sole responsibility for cross-checking every output against the applicable code edition (NBC 2016, ECBC 2017, ASHRAE 90.1/62.1 latest, NFPA, IS) and against vendor-published performance data.
7. Third-Party Links, Standards References, and Trademarks
This site contains hyperlinks to third-party websites — Bureau of Indian Standards, ASHRAE, NFPA, vendor product pages, regulatory portals, and similar — which are provided as a courtesy. MEPVAULT does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, availability, or accuracy of those external resources. References to specific equipment manufacturers, brand names, code titles, and registered trademarks (e.g., Carrier, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, ASHRAE, NFPA, BIS, BEE) are made for editorial and educational purposes only; all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and no commercial association is implied unless explicitly stated.
8. Privacy, Cookies, and Data Handling
Visitor data handling — analytics cookies, contact-form submissions, advertising-network cookies, and any personal data collected via the calculators — is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and India are entitled to the data-subject rights set out under GDPR, UK GDPR, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, respectively. Requests for data export or deletion should be sent to admin@mepvault.com with the subject line Privacy Request; we respond within 30 calendar days.
9. Modifications to These Terms
MEPVAULT reserves the right to revise, update, or replace any portion of these Terms at any time, at our sole discretion. Material changes — for example a change of jurisdiction, a meaningful expansion of liability disclaimers, or new disclosure obligations under amended Indian or international regulations — will be summarised where the change is significant, summarised at the top of this page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in relation to these Terms, or the use of MEPVAULT, that is not resolved through good-faith correspondence shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, are additional governing instruments where applicable.
11. Contact for Legal & Compliance Queries
Notices under these Terms — including takedown requests under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, copyright infringement complaints under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, and statutory requests by enforcement agencies — should be sent in writing to admin@mepvault.com with the subject line Legal Notice. To be actionable, a notice must clearly identify the affected URL or content, the nature of the alleged infringement or violation, and the legal basis under Indian (or applicable) law. We acknowledge bona fide legal notices within three working days and provide a substantive response within fifteen working days, unless a shorter statutory period applies.
